Clive Lewis MP
Clive Lewis has been the MP for Norwich South constituency since 2015.
He was also one of the candidates in the 2020 leadership challenge for Leader of the Labour Party although pulled out quite early on in the process.
Prior to becoming an MP, Clive worked as a journalist and was the senior broadcast journalist and the main reporter on the BBC’s Politics Show East.
Lewis joined the Territorial Army, passing out of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in 2006 as an infantry officer with 7 Rifles. He also served a 3-month tour of Afghanistan in 2009.
He is married to Katy and they have a daughter.
Windsor CLP were delighted to welcome Clive as guest speaker in January 2021.
Some interesting points discussed around PR, Rainbow coalitions with other opposition parties based on common policies, and of course the tightening of the screws on ‘the many’ by ‘the privileged few’.
It’s of Clive’s opinion that we are now entering austerity 2.0 and the erosion of our civil liberties and rights will increase.
We had hope in 2017 and 19, and the people to implement the (not so radical) policies. But a one-party socialist-led government just won’t happen because we lost Scotland. We desparately need democracy and an equal society now – not in x amount of years time.
Here are just some of the speakers we have had over the last two years:
